I think the time is finally here to purchase iPads for my
kids now that the price has dropped. My
wife is against it since they will just use them for watching more live and
recorded TV with the use of our Sling Adapter from DISH. Since I work there, I get my hands on the
latest gadgets, and this one gets uses a lot in our household. They are using their iPhones to death
currently. I got one for my wife this
Christmas, and so far I don’t think she has used it yet because I’m still “testing”
it. Well, who wouldn’t watch as much TV
as they could if they could watch on-the-go?

There are so many stories that simply repeat the same thing –
that Playbook is not selling, it is not competitive etc etc How does the author know that the Playbook has
been selling poorly? In fact, some reports say its selling extremely well,
especially in Canada.

I really suspect
that a lot of these articles are motivated by: A) Apple encouraging journalists
to write disparagingly about RIM in the hopes of weakening consumer /investor confidence
in the company; B) or some kind of mass hysteria "jump on the
bandwagon" attitude that glorifies Apple or Android simply because they have
monopolized the market.

I for one don’t like monopolies that control our lives
and so am quite pleased that BB Playbook is as outstanding as it is. I’m also
pleased that a number of open-source tablets are being released that run very cool
versions of Linux.

I bought the Playbook because I wanted great hardware, an
amazing OS that has incredible potential, and I only wanted to pay $200 because
any tablet you buy will be outdated in 2 years anyway. I read many reviews, all
the criticisms, and bought one taking a gamble that 2.0 would be released. Instead of paying $600 for an ipad, I decided to pay
$200 now and use the remaining money in 3 years to buy a new table. The Playbook is a very capable, well-featured
tablet and I’m finding more uses for it every day.

My experience? Terrible. Nothing works - Facebook, iPlayer and Youtube (Flash has gone and can't install it), have to press buttons several times to get a response, it's running slower. I loved my G9 until today - now I hate it.
